2011 Downtown Art Project – Banner Up 2!

Positively Pewaukee and the Pewaukee Area Arts Council are pleased to showcase the 2011 Art in the Downtown Project; Banner Up 2! We are so grateful to the artists and sponsors who have made this project possible.

Below are the 21 paintings that will be turned into the banners. We will be auctioning off the original pieces of art starting July 13 during the grand unveiling at our Waterfront Wednesday concert. More information on the auction will be forthcoming.

ARTIST NAME AND BIO
Acrylic painting  “Swimming in Circles” by artist, Nick Kanavas, is based on a tribal design of two Koi circling one another.
Artist, Steve Mcallister, has created a true painting of love.  This montage of hearts and flowers appear to be floating on a lovely waterway.
Oconomowoc artist Amy Gapinski has created a painted depiction of a women having fun posing for the camera on the beach in the 1930’s.

“Here Fishy Fishy!” created by artist, Cathy Petersen uses loose and painterly brush strokes to create abstract fish, water, geometric swirls, flowers and polka dots in bright and vibrant hues. SOLD

Florida artist, Dimitri Kanavas has created a painting of an eclectic blend of flora, fauna and lake fun in vibrant color.
Artist, Orel Rooney, has created an oil painting highlighting Pewaukee lakefronts Wisconsin Avenue with incredible details of the “Old Main Street” businesses.
Artist, Diane (Dint) Sweitzer, has captured this enthusiastic Green Bay Packer supporter enjoying a day on Pewaukee’s lakefront in this acrylic painting.

Pewaukee’s vibrant biking scene has been captured in this acrylic painting of bicyclists on the move by mother and daughter artists Carol Hollowell and Alyssa Benedict. SOLD

Artist, Carrie Storm has highlighted the preferred footwear of Pewaukee Beach in her acrylic painting of a large blue flip flop.
Delafield artist, Karen Patrick has created this acrylic painting of French Bull Dog “Clementine” guarding this Adirondack chair which happens to be her favorite summer afternoon nap spot. SOLD
Northlake artist, Marilyn Horst’s “Take a Walk on the Beach” painting of her niece walking on the beach brings us all back to the simpler days of summer.
Artist, Jared Jakubowski, has created a vibrant painting highlighting the train tracks which border the shores of Pewaukee Lake.
Artist, Kasi Patrick’s acrylic painting showcases a polka dotted bikini clad sunbather enjoying a sunny day on the beach.
This whimsical acrylic painting by artist Karen Patrick highlights the musical movements of cocktails as they dance on the waters.
Three boys tubing on tranquil waters on inner tubes of yellow, pink and green are brought to life in this acrylic painting by artist Linda Kowalewski.
Mother and daughter, Kimberly and Lara Eisendrath combined their artistic talents in creating this colorful montage image of Pewaukee in Eric Carle artistic style.
Young artist Ella Tschurwald has captured the tranquility of the water with her representation of a single Lilly Pad flowering on the water in this acrylic painting.
“First Fish” by Pewaukee artist, Carolyn Larkin, vibrantly captures the special occasion of a young fisherman holding this first catch.
